Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest financial decisions you’ll ever make. Unfortunately, it’s also become a growing target for cyber criminals.
According to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center, real estate-related fraud led to over $275 million in losses in 2025, impacting more than 12,000 victims. That number has steadily increased over the past few years—and with the use of AI, these scams are becoming more sophisticated and harder to spot.

✔ Be cautious of any last-minute changes to payment details
✔ Double-check email addresses carefully
✔ Avoid clicking links or downloading attachments from unknown sources
✔ Never send funds based on email alone
The real estate process should be exciting—not stressful or risky. While these scams are becoming more common, the good news is that they are preventable with the right awareness and guidance.
If you ever have a question—even if something just “feels off”—reach out. I would much rather double-check something for you than have you take a risk.
Your safety and your investment matter, and I’m here to help you navigate both with confidence.
